Plating Technician- GRINDER

 Must have grinding experience: OD & ID Grinding. 

Techmetals grinders use grinding equipment to remove excess material, smooth rough edges, and achieve the desired surface finish on metal parts.  Grinders ensure that parts are ground to precise measurements, tolerances, and specifications as per the job requirements.

Surface Preparation:

Prepare metal surfaces for additional plating or finishing processes by smoothing out imperfections and other surface defects.

Make sure surfaces are uniform, clean, and free of contaminants that could affect the quality of the plating.


Maintenance and Operation of Equipment:

Operate and maintain grinding machines and tools, ensuring they are functioning correctly.

Perform routine cleaning and maintenance on grinding equipment to prevent malfunctions and ensure efficient operation.


​Safety and Cleanliness:

Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, goggles, and hearing protection.

Maintain a clean and organized work area to minimize the risk of accidents and ensure optimal working conditions.​


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience with Grinding Machines: Familiarity with different types of grinding equipment, such as belt grinders, surface grinders, and cylindrical grinders.

  • Attention to Detail: Ability to read and understand technical drawings, blueprints, or specifications.

  • Mechanical Aptitude: Understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to troubleshoot equipment.

  • Knowledge of Safety Procedures: Awareness of proper safety protocols in an industrial environment.

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, handle heavy materials, and perform repetitive tasks.

Work Environment:

  • Our plating grinder works in a shop environment, where metal parts plated and finished. The work area may be noisy and involve exposure to dust, fumes, and chemicals.
